It’s funny how much can change over the course of two years. As you probably guessed, the two year period of time that I am referring to is the last two years, and the specific thing I am talking about changing is the economy. If you look back past two years, you will see that we were all enjoying the benefits of a bullish stock market and thriving economy. Because of this, a lot of people were living beyond their means, but it didn’t seem like there were any consequences to adopting this type of lifestyle. In fact, when most people looked at this situation, it seemed like there were only benefits to living a more lavish lifestyle than you could actually afford.
However, over the course of the last two years, people have seen that they could not have been more wrong about this issue. Not only did things get bad, but they got bad quite suddenly. As a result, many people who were living beyond their means (and arguably just as many people who weren’t) had their financial situations flipped upside down!
As a result of these major changes, people have begun to realize that they need to be more careful about how they spend their money. Because of this, it’s not uncommon to find people spending time looking for something like a car rental bargain. While they wouldn’t have thought twice about taking time to secure a car rental bargain when things were good, now they are able to see the true value of these types of deals.
