I’m sure that I don’t have to tell you about how poorly the economy performed during the last year. Even if you weren’t directly impacted by this poor performance, not only was this the hottest topic throughout the year in the news, but there is a very good chance that you know at least one person who was directly impacted by the downward turn in the economy.

If there is one good thing that we can take away from last year, it’s the fact that we should all do our best to focus on making our personal financial situation as good as possible. While you can’t control what happens in the global economy, you can control whether you spend money on wasteful things, or put it away in your savings account.

I know that I am personally going to do a lot more to save money whenever possible. Although I’m just getting started, it’s actually easier than I anticipated. For example, when I needed to rent a car, I just hopped online, and it didn’t take me long at all to find a car rental bargain.
